Renesas, one of the world's leading global electronics companies, has a strategic, multi-use licensing agreement with Imagination. This agreement enables Renesas to integrate a number of POWERVR graphics and video cores alongside Renesas' RISC microprocessors into SoC semiconductors targeting a broad range of consumer entertainment and information devices.

Recently Renesas licensed a second member of the POWERVR SGX graphics/video core family under a multiple-use license arrangement. Another member of the POWERVR SGX core family was previously licensed by Renesas.

Renesas has also licensed POWERVR MBX and POWERVR MBX Lite and has successfully deployed these in automotive, consumer and mobile devices such as the SH7770 and the SH-Mobile3 family.
